Rampworx hosted once again a FREE Summer Clinic, in partnership with Merseyrail, Merseytravel and C.A.L.M. The clinic took place during the school holidays for 3 days, July 27th/28th/29th. Each day we catered for a different sport with the Rampworx coaches.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the clinic and to all our sponsors that backed the event.
Simon Mulvaney has been making films with us for a long time now. He just got back from filming the Razors Ireland tour and as ever the video is amazing. Check it out. Continue reading »
The Eastern Bikes team popped over to the UK last month for a cup of tea and to shred a selection of parks in the UK. Rampworx was one of those parks, check out the video.
Kelly Bolton and Josh Perry went to England to check out some local shops, ride parks and hit the NASS contest. We met up with Eastern rider, Scott Hamlin who was with us the entire trip keeping us laughing the whole time.
We had a long day of data capturing in the Rampworx office yesterday, by 3 o’clock everyone had lost the plot listening to Heart FM and dancing…as you can see.
We also had some visitors on the road clocking people speeding, so Ian gave them a little dance.
A few months back Nike 6.0 shipped off a bunch of their riders from around the globe for a tour of Asia. One of those riders was Rampworx localJason Phelan. Check the video out to see what went down.
China is fast becoming one of the most talked about countries for BMX, so it only made sense for the Nike 6.0 crew to spend some time riding the country, while attending the Asian X Games. Garrett Reynolds, Dennis Enarson, Alex Kennedy andJason Phelan made the trip to score some X Games medals, shred Shanghai/Beijing and ride with the locals as part of the Stoked Tour.
You can now vote for you favourite Ride to Glory section online! Make sure you head on over to the RideUK site and check out the sections. A lot of Rampworx locals where on this tour from riders to videographers, make sure you check all the videos out.
Rampworx local Andy Gilbert is arguably the best Am skater in England.
You can always be sure to find Andys name near the top on most contest happening in England/Europe. Recently he won the Am contest at NASS and went on to place 5th in the Pro comp. We caught up with Andy for a closed door session at the skatepark one morning this week. Check out what went down.
A few weeks ago Rampworx local and DK rider Anthony Watkinson hopped on a train and got himself down to London for a few days. The fisrt morning we were up at 5am to get to the American Embassy in time for Wocko’s final ‘Athlete VISA’ interview. After waiting outside for an hour, I decided to film a few bits to document what was going on, but within a matter of minutes two squad cars bursting with fully armed police rolled up and questioned us. No messin’! We got away with no problems… And a secured VISA for Wocko! We spent the next couple of days riding some local parks and watching England ‘play football’ at the pub. Before being up at 5am again to get to the O2 store in time for the release of the iPhone 4! The early bird catches the worm… A quick session at Farnborough before Watkinson was back on the train home, with a some dope clips under his belt, aswell as a new iPhone 4 and an Athlete VISA.’
It’s been 1 year since Lance McDermott last showed off his skills in a contest. A broken leg sustained in a BMX crash June 2009 (See it in the video), followed by a major failure in his first operation has had Lance sitting on the sideline watching on so far in 2010. Despite signing a deal for the newly revitalized UK brand Saracen in 2010 it is only now he is getting his leg back over a bike and pushing towards the standard of riding we all know him for. A few weeks ago I headed to meet Lance, shoot some video and see him as he pushes back towards full fitness in an attempt to be able to compete at Crankworx in a few weeks. Read the full interview here.
We ventured down south to NASS again this year, one of the largest outdoor events in the UK.
The event welcomes BMX, Motorcross, Skateboard and Inline Skating for competitions. Some of the best pros in the world attended the weekend with Brian Aragon wining the Pro Inline comp and Rampworx local Andy Gilbert wining the AM contest and placing 5th in Pro!
