Would we ever leave you guys hanging after taking away the old Step-up? Here is the new improved Step-UP aka Step-UP 2.0. Some of the transfers and tricks getting pulled on this thing is nuts.
Local superstars Anthony Watkinson (Etnies, DK, Rockstar) and Zack Williams (Vans, Hoffman) had a little closed door session on the new ramp. Check it out.

Rampworx’s very own Matt Dearden has been interviewed by Be-Mag magazine. Check it out to find an insight into the industry.
David McNamara talks to Matty Dearden, the Creative Director of Rampworx Skatepark in Liverpool and driving force behind some of Europe’s most important competitions including the Chaz Sands Invitational.
Matty Dearden is living proof that it is possible to make a career out of rollerblading. The 22 year old from Liverpool is the Creative Director at Rampworx Skatepark, one of the most respected rollerblading facilities in the world, and constantly striving to get more people into rollerblading and expose the sport to a wider audience.
Last week Paul Hunter had an interview on the radio with Sean Styles from BBC Radio Merseyside. Paul talked to Sean about the development of the organisation over the last few years, the support we have had and where our future lies. He mentions the importance of the Community Foundation (an organisation that helps provide funding for us) and how over recent years we have worked with them to make our project successful and sustainable. If you wish to get involved in our steering group, or volunteer with the organisation please email info@rampworx.com.

On Thursday 17th June a group of people from Rampworx were lucky enough to attend the Community Foundation Awards night at the prestigious Anglican Cathedral. We had been nominated for the Young Transformers Award, which is basically an award for projects that help young people.
Last year Rampworx was awarded 3 grants to help develop the skatepark and these included a Video Project, the creation of the Mac suite and this summer Rampworx will be able to offer free and discounted entry for underprivileged local groups and young people. The event itself was amazing. There must have ben at least 300 people there and we all had to dress up pretty smart (suits!), which was a pretty new experience for the likes of Jonny Oates and Andy Gilbert! We all enjoyed a great 3 course meal and met some of the local politicians, the Duke of Westminster and Roger Phillips from the BBC. It was great to see other youth projects there too and we had been selected as one of four projects in Merseyside to win the award. Unfortunately, we didn’t win this year, but that was Ok as another great local project won and to be fair it was just great to be nominated… after all it was our third year running so we must be doing well! Hopefully next year we will be nominated again. Thanks to everyone who supports Rampworx every week too and helping us get where we are.
Over the past week the Rampworx team has been working day and night to put together this new ramp called “The Wave”. The Wave was designed by Rampworx local and Etnies rider Anthony Watkinson.
The ramp has an 18ft gap from the first hump to the 2nd. A whole host of tricks have already been pulled up and down the ramp by BMX, Rollerbladers and Skatebaorders.
This is the 1st obstacle to be completed in the back section, stay tuned for the 2nd!
Big thanks goes out to Big Rob, Watkinson, Leon, Gary and Pete.
